Floyd Junior (Jack) Gish, 84, passed away in the comfort of his home on April, 24, 2017.  Floyd was born to Floyd Milton and Thelma Opal Snider Gish on February 11, 1933 at the Old Home Place in Camden.

Floyd attended Camden Schools graduating in 1951.  He enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1952 and was stationed at the Francis E. Warren Air Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming, graduating as a Communications Center Specialist.

Floyd married the love of his life, the late, Nancy Lee Hay on February 14th, 1953 in Cheyenne, Wyoming at the Air Force Chapel.

Floyd was transferred to Washington, DC in 1953, leaving for Korea in 1954. Serving in the Korean War as a Communication Instructor for 1 1/2 years, Floyd was stationed in Tokyo, Guam, Okinawa and Taipei.  Following his tour of duty throughout Korea, he was an active member of the reserves for 4 years.

Floyd returned to the United States in 1955 to be employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad, working as a yardmaster, before retiring in 1995.

Floyd was a 50-year member of the Camden Lions Club and Mt. Zion Masonic Lodge.  He was a member of the Scottish Rite of Indianapolis and the Murat Temple of Indiana, Floyd enjoyed being an active Shriner. Floyd was a VFW Life Member, member of the American Legion and the Camden First Baptist Church.

Floyd enjoyed fishing, bowling and living in Florida through his senior years.

Survived by 5 children, Debra Lee, of Guatemala, Cynthia Louise, of Florida, Melanie Anne,  of Indiana, Floyd J, Georgia (Wife Helen) and Natalie Kay, of Florida. 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. One brother, Dr. C.W. Gish of Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy on January 18, 2017, one brother, Dr. H.M. Gish and a one sister Helen Louise.

Visitation will be at Camden Baptist Church, Monday, May 1st, 2017

Calling hours 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m

Masonic Services starting at 1:00 pm

Graveside services to be at Wise Cemetery with Military and Honor Guard Service

Luncheon to follow at the Camden Baptist Church

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camden Baptist Church
